Tips to Make Flying With Toddlers More Tolerable

Air travel is the fastest way to reach your destination. If you will be traveling with toddlers and kids, you would want to reach your destination as soon as possible.  Toddlers are unpredictable and it is sometimes not convenient to be with them.  This does not always have to be the case.  You have the power to turn your travel to be more bearable and comfortable.  Below are some tips to make it happen.

Opt for nonstop flights. It would be better to have one long flight rather than two or more connected short flights.  With a non stop flight, your toddler will be able to have a quality nap or sleep. There is also a greater possibility for you to rest.  Expect that your toddler will complain of getting bored, be creative and resourceful in thinking for diversions.

Prefer an aisle seat.  This is recommended so that it would be easier for you to attend your child's request.  He may ask you to get something from the overhead bin.  He may ask you to accompany him in the washroom or walk in the aisle.

Be prepared for the security line.  Anticipate that it will not be simple and easy.  You and your toddler should wear comfortable footwear in order to bear standing for long periods. A fordable stroller will be of help as well to keep your child.

Consider boarding early.  If you board early, you will have an extra time to settle yourself and your child on the plane.  You can also settle your things in the overhead bin and there will surely be much space.

Ask assistance from flight attendants.  You can consider them as your savior during the flight.  They will be the one that you can ask for help when things are getting unmanageable.

Make sure that you have the necessary supplies. This includes extra clothes, diapers, wipes, foods and toys. Bring as many toys as you can in order to entertain your toddler. Place them in your carry-on so that you can easily access them.

Soothe possible ear pains.  Before the plane lands, give your toddler lollipop or something to drink.  You may also encourage him to keep on yawning in order to reduce the possibility of pain in the ear.
